Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)

CVE-2026-45310

Severity Low
Score 0/10

Summary

The `fetch_url` tool validates the initial URL's resolved IP address against a restricted-IP blocklist (`is_restricted_ip()`) to prevent SSRF attacks against internal services (cloud metadata endpoints, localhost, private networks). However, the HTTP client (`reqwest`) is configured to automatically follow up to 5 redirects (`reqwest::redirect::Policy::limited(5)`) without re-validating the redirect target against the same SSRF protections. Versions prior to 0.8.22 are affected.

CWE-918 - Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)

Server-side request forgery (SSRF) is a weakness that allows an attacker to send an arbitrary request, making it appear that the request was sent by the server. This request may bypass a firewall that would normally prevent direct access to the URL. The impact of this vulnerability can vary from unauthorized access to files and sensitive information to remote code execution.
