Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection')
CVE-2026-44680
Summary
MikroORM's identifier-quoting helper (`Platform.quoteIdentifier` and the postgres/mssql overrides) and its JSON-path emitters (`Platform.getSearchJsonPropertyKey`, `quoteJsonKey`) did not properly escape characters that delimit the SQL identifier or string-literal context they emit into. When application code passes attacker-influenced strings to public ORM APIs that expect an identifier or a JSON-property filter, an attacker can break out of the quoted context and inject arbitrary SQL. This issue affects @mikro-orm/knex versions prior to 6.6.14 and @mikro-orm/sql prior to 7.0.14.

CWE-89 - SQL Injection
Structured Query Language (SQL) injection attacks are one of the most common types of vulnerabilities. They exploit weaknesses in vulnerable applications to gain unauthorized access to backend databases. This often occurs when an attacker enters unexpected SQL syntax in an input field. The resulting SQL statement behaves in the background in an unintended manner, which allows the possibility of unauthorized data retrieval, data modification, execution of database administration operations, and execution of commands on the operating system.
