CVE-2025-27152

Severity High
Score 8.7/10

Summary

Axios is a promise-based HTTP client for the browser and node.js. The issue occurs when passing absolute URLs rather than protocol-relative URLs to Axios. Even if "baseURL" is set, Axios sends the request to the specified absolute URL, potentially causing SSRF and credential leakage. This issue impacts both server-side and client-side usage of Axios. This issue affects axios versions prior to 1.8.2.

CWE-918 - Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)

Server-side request forgery (SSRF) is a weakness that allows an attacker to send an arbitrary request, making it appear that the request was sent by the server. This request may bypass a firewall that would normally prevent direct access to the URL. The impact of this vulnerability can vary from unauthorized access to files and sensitive information to remote code execution.
