Summary

A flaw was found in Skupper. When Skupper is initialized with the console-enabled and with console-auth set to Openshift, it configures the openshift oauth-proxy with a static "cookie-secret". In certain circumstances, this may allow an attacker to bypass authentication to the Skupper console via a specially crafted cookie. This issue affects the package github.com/skupperproject/skupper versions through 1.4.6, 1.5.0 through 1.5.4, and 1.6.0 through 1.7.1.

Improper authentication attacks are a class of vulnerabilities where an attacker impersonates a legitimate user by exploiting weaknesses in either session management or credential management to gain access to the user’s account.
