Summary

Mattermost versions 9.7.x prior to 9.7.6-rc1, 9.8.x prior to 9.8.3-rc1, and 9.9.x prior to 9.9.3-rc1 fail to properly propagate permission scheme updates across cluster nodes, which allows a user to keep old permissions even if the permission scheme has been updated.

Authorization is a security mechanism performed by an application to grant or deny access to the requested resources by verifying the privileges of the user. Such a vulnerability may result in exposure of sensitive information, denial of service, arbitrary code execution, and complete system takeover.
