Out-of-bounds Write

CVE-2022-40151

Severity High
Score 7.5/10

Summary

Those using woodstox to serialise XML data may be vulnerable to Denial of Service attacks (DOS). If the parser is running on user supplied input, an attacker may supply content that causes the parser to crash by stack overflow. While NVD declares xstream as the vulnerable package, research concluded that it is only transient through the "FullDTDReader" class supplied from woodstox. Versions prior to 5.4.0 and 6.x prior to 6.4.0 are affected by this vulnerability.
