Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)
CarrierWave is an open-source RubyGem which provides a simple and flexible way to upload files from Ruby applications. In CarrierWave versions prior to 1.3.2 and 2.0.0 through 2.1.0 the download feature has an SSRF vulnerability, allowing attacks to provide DNS entries or IP addresses that are intended for internal use and gather information about the Intranet infrastructure of the platform.
CWE-918 - Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)
Server-side request forgery (SSRF) is a weakness that allows an attacker to send an arbitrary request, making it appear that the request was sent by the server. This request may bypass a firewall that would normally prevent direct access to the URL. The impact of this vulnerability can vary from unauthorized access to files and sensitive information to remote code execution.
