Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor
In SilverStripe version 4.0.0-alpha3 up to 4.4.6, 4.5.x up to 4.5.3 and 4.6.x up to 4.6.0-rc1, a specific URL path configured by default through the silverstripe/framework module can be used to disclose the fact that a domain is hosting a Silverstripe application. There is no disclosure of the specific version. The functionality on this URL path is limited to execution in a CLI context, and is not known to present a vulnerability through web-based access. As a side-effect, this preconfigured path also blocks the creation of other resources on this path (e.g. a page).
CWE-200 - Information Exposure
An information exposure vulnerability is categorized as an information flow (IF) weakness, which can potentially allow unauthorized access to otherwise classified information in the application, such as confidential personal information (demographics, financials, health records, etc.), business secrets, and the application's internal environment.
