Deserialization of Untrusted Data
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of VEEAM One Agent 220.127.116.1187. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the PerformHandshake method. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in deserialization of untrusted data. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the service account. Was ZDI-CAN-10400.

Deserialization of untrusted data vulnerabilities enable an attacker to replace or manipulate a serialized object, replacing it with malicious data. When the object is deserialized at the victim's end the malicious data is able to compromise the victim’s system. The exploit can be devastating, its impact may range from privilege escalation, broken access control, or denial of service attacks to allowing unauthorized access to the application's internal code and logic which can compromise the entire system.
