Deserialization of Untrusted Data
An issue was discovered in TYPO3 before 9.5.12 and 10.x before 10.2.1. It has been discovered that the classes QueryGenerator and QueryView are vulnerable to insecure deserialization. One exploitable scenario requires having the system extension ext:lowlevel (Backend Module: DB Check) installed, with a valid backend user who has administrator privileges. The other exploitable scenario requires having the system extension ext:sys_action installed, with a valid backend user who has limited privileges.
CWE-502 - Deserialization of Untrusted Data
Deserialization of untrusted data vulnerabilities enable an attacker to replace or manipulate a serialized object, replacing it with malicious data. When the object is deserialized at the victim's end the malicious data is able to compromise the victim’s system. The exploit can be devastating, its impact may range from privilege escalation, broken access control, or denial of service attacks to allowing unauthorized access to the application's internal code and logic which can compromise the entire system.
