An issue was discovered in Xen through 4.9.x allowing HVM guest OS users to gain privileges on the host OS, obtain sensitive information, or cause a denial of service (BUG and host OS crash) by leveraging the mishandling of Populate on Demand (PoD) Physical-to-Machine (P2M) errors.

CWE-416 - Use After Free
Use-after-free (UaF) vulnerability occurs when the application is using a pointer to memory that has been freed. Any attempt to read/write to a buffer after it is de-allocated allows memory corruption, sensitive information exposure, and can potentially lead to arbitrary code execution.
