Summary
Fresh is a module used by the Express.js framework for HTTP response freshness testing. Prior to v0.5.2 it is vulnerable to a regular expression denial of service when it is passed specially crafted input to parse. This causes the event loop to be blocked causing a denial of service condition.

An uncontrolled resource allocation attack (also known as resource exhaustion attack) triggers unauthorized overconsumption of the limited resources in an application, such as memory, file system storage, database connection pool entries, and CPU. This may lead to denial of service for valid users and degradation of the application's functionality as well as that of the host operating system.
