An issue was discovered in phpMyAdmin. The transformation feature allows a user to trigger a denial-of-service (DoS) attack against the server. All 4.0.x versions prior to 4.0.10.17, 4.4.x versions prior to 4.4.15.8, and 4.6.x versions prior to 4.6.5 are affected.

An uncontrolled resource allocation attack (also known as resource exhaustion attack) triggers unauthorized overconsumption of the limited resources in an application, such as memory, file system storage, database connection pool entries, and CPU. This may lead to denial of service for valid users and degradation of the application's functionality as well as that of the host operating system.
