Improper Privilege Management
An user able to alter the savevm data (either on the disk or over the wire during migration) could use this flaw to corrupt QEMU process memory on the (destination) host, which could potentially result in arbitrary code execution on the host with the privileges of the QEMU process. This vulnerability affects QEMU versions prior to 1.7.2 and 2.0.x prior to 2.0.1. This has same fix as CVE-2013-4535.
CWE-269 - Improper Privilege Management
An effective privilege management infrastructure provides valid users with required access and privileges across heterogeneous technology environments. An application with a faulty privilege management infrastructure allows higher than authorized privileges or enables privilege escalation. This can lead to security incidents such as system infiltration, data breach, and complete system takeover.
