The Web Services Security component in IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 6.0.2 before 22.214.171.124 and 6.1 before 126.96.36.199, when Certificate Store Collections is configured to use Certificate Revocation Lists (CRL), does not call the setRevocationEnabled method on the PKIXBuilderParameters object, which prevents the "Java security method" from checking the revocation status of X.509 certificates and allows remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions via a SOAP message with a revoked certificate.
CWE-287 - Improper Authentication
Improper (or broken) authentication attacks are widespread, and have accounted for many of the worst data breaches in recent years. Improper authentication attacks are a class of vulnerabilities where an attacker impersonates a legitimate user by exploiting weaknesses in either session management or credential management to gain access to the user’s account. This can result in disclosure of sensitive information, and can lead to system compromise, theft, identity theft, and fraud.
