Summary

Wikimedia MediaWiki 1.27.x through 1.27.5, 1.28.x through 1.30.1, and 1.31.x through 1.31.1, might allow DoS. Passing invalid titles to the API could cause a DoS by querying the entire watchlist table. Fixed in 1.32.0-rc.0, 1.31.2, 1.30.2 and 1.27.6.

An uncontrolled resource allocation attack (also known as resource exhaustion attack) triggers unauthorized overconsumption of the limited resources in an application, such as memory, file system storage, database connection pool entries, and CPU. This may lead to denial of service for valid users and degradation of the application's functionality as well as that of the host operating system.
