Spring Framework applications that use Spring's data binding infrastructure to apply user-supplied property paths onto a target object may be vulnerable to a Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack. This issue affects Spring Framework versions through 5.2.25.RELEASE, 5.3.0 through 5.3.49, 6.0.0 through 6.0.30, 6.1.0 through 6.1.28, 6.2.0 through 6.2.19 and 7.0.0 through 7.0.8.

An uncontrolled resource allocation attack (also known as resource exhaustion attack) triggers unauthorized overconsumption of the limited resources in an application, such as memory, file system storage, database connection pool entries, and CPU. This may lead to denial of service for valid users and degradation of the application's functionality as well as that of the host operating system.
