Summary
Sealos is an open source cloud operating system distribution based on the Kubernetes kernel. In github.com/labring/sealos versions prior to 4.2.1-rc4, an improper configuration of role based access control (RBAC) permissions resulted in an attacker being able to obtain cluster control permissions, which could control the entire cluster deployed with Sealos, as well as hundreds of pods and other resources within the cluster. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.

CWE-863 - Incorrect Authorization
Authorization is a security mechanism performed by an application to grant or deny access to the requested resources by verifying the privileges of the user. When an application lacks effective authorization mechanisms, it enables unauthorized users to gain unintended privileges and illegitimate access to resources. Such a vulnerability may result in exposure of sensitive information, denial of service, arbitrary code execution, and complete system takeover.
