Uncontrolled Resource Consumption

CVE-2026-23864

Severity High
Score 7.5/10

Summary

Multiple Denial-of-Service (DoS) vulnerabilities exist in React Server Components, affecting the following packages: react-server-dom-parcel, react-server-dom-turbopack, react-server-dom-webpack. Fixes were back ported to versions 19.0.4, 19.1.5, and 19.2.4. The vulnerabilities are triggered by sending specially crafted HTTP requests to Server Function endpoints, and could lead to server crashes, out-of-memory exceptions or excessive CPU usage; depending on the vulnerable code path being exercised, the application configuration and application code. Strongly consider upgrading to the latest package versions to reduce risk and prevent availability issues in applications using React Server Components.

CWE-400 - Uncontrolled resource consumption

An uncontrolled resource allocation attack (also known as resource exhaustion attack) triggers unauthorized overconsumption of the limited resources in an application, such as memory, file system storage, database connection pool entries, and CPU. This may lead to denial of service for valid users and degradation of the application's functionality as well as that of the host operating system.
